DR SWATI CHANDRA

"As calm and restless as the sea" — this is how I often describe myself poetically. And I find my calm in reading, writing and teaching, and sometimes, I paint too. 

I teach English at the Faculty of Arts and Design, South Asian University, New Delhi. Before joining South Asian University I had taught for over a decade at the University of Delhi, where I also received my higher education. I specialize in Comparative Literature and Folklore Studies, with a  keen interest in Postcolonial and Cultural Studies. 

I write and perform poetry in both English and Hindi, and have contributed articles to magazines and newspapers. I find joy in the world of letters, as I deeply enjoy both writing and speaking. Although temperamentally quite stoic, I am waiting with bated breath for the release of my debut work of fiction.
